An exquisite viewing spot in Takao. At the base of Jingo-ji Temple, after crossing a bridge over Kiyotaki-gawa River, is the Momijiya Annex, Kawa-no-Iori designed in the folk art tradition.

The seasons turn gently, and as you walk upstream of Kiyotaki-gawa River, through the blooming green and flowerbeds, you will find the beautiful Kitayama cedar countryside. Surrounded by stretches of flowers, the cedars stand tall and brilliant.

The trees cast a cool shadow. Sunlight warms the day and in evening, fireflies flutter to the charming croaks of tiny frogs splattering near the stream. In the quiet kawadoko, riverbed rests the very elegance of Kyoto. The stream running down from the mountain recesses is cool to the touch. The green upon green thrives in the golden sunlight.

Love burns with quiet intensity. In the same way, the autumn leaves around the famous Jingo-ji Temple have been cherished for over a thousand years. The cool stream can be glimpsed from throughout the region, and in autumn, a deep silence, dyed in crimson, overtakes all.

The countryside of Takao is lined with flowers blanketed in snow, powdery and charming. Quiet and beautiful, a snowy layer blankets the area. Your heart will be pulled by the figures of snow dancers.
